Raj and Howard had no idea what they created when they placed Sheldon’s profile on a dating site back in Season 3 of The Big Bang Theory. Amy Farrah Fowler is a female Sheldon, but even more human than he is.
Raj and Howard had no idea what they created when they placed Sheldon’s profile on a dating site back in Season 3 of The Big Bang Theory. Amy Farrah Fowler is a female Sheldon, but even more human than he is.
An intelligent woman with a Ph.D in neurobiology, she
is his intellectual match, although he does not believe that anyone could be as
smart as he is. Both have agreements with their mothers. Once a year, Sheldon must attend church. For Amy, once a year she had to go on a date
(that contract is no longer in effect since she has a “Relationship Agreement”
with Sheldon that includes a weekly date).
Since viewers have met Amy, they have cheered her on as
she tries to initiate intimacy with Sheldon.
The results are often both hilarious and sad, as most viewers really
want to see the pair “together”. Amy yearns for more physical contact with
Sheldon, and this past season they even kissed while on a train. Whether or not she gets more physical with her
boyfriend remains to be seen, as Sheldon took off on a train ride to clear his
head at the end of this past season.
Her best friends are Penny and Bernadette. While she and Bernadette are both
intellectual, Penny is not. Initially,
this bothered Amy and she looked down at her, but eventually Amy wanted to be “one
of the girls” and her attitude towards Penny changed. Amy is oftentimes oblivious
to the eye rolls her two best friends give each other when she makes an off the
wall statement.
Amy’s manner of dress is dowdy and matronly. She cares little for her personal appearance and does not wear any makeup at all. She is a “plain Jane” and her outfits almost make her disappear, as if she does not want to be noticed.

Amy's nondescript appearance begins with her skirt. They are typically straight and either denim or beige in color like this one:
Amy typically wears a turtleneck under a plaid shirt, which is layered over a sweater. One has to wonder what she trying to hide with all of these layers!
Amy still wears barrettes in her hair.
And of course, there are her signature glasses.
Add black loafers and you are good to go!
