One of the loudest characters in the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory is Howard Wolowitz. Unlike his nerdy peers, he went after women, even though his attempts were both needy and obnoxious.
Not only does he have a loud personality, which masks a lot of his deep seeded fears and anxieties, he has an extremely loud wardrobe. While Howard believes he is some kind of fashionista, he most certainly is not. His clothes are vibrant to the point of distraction, as if he is screaming to be noticed by everyone around him. That may come from the fact that his father abandoned him when he was 11 and never came back. He is still a little boy screaming for attention.

Howard is a Jewish man who lived with his equally loud and obnoxious mother until he married Bernadette. Unlike his peers, who all have doctorates, Howard only has his Masters Degree in engineering from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. While this is a lofty credential, Sheldon looks down upon him because he not a doctor like, and therefore, he is not as intelligent as the rest of the group.
The one thing he does have over the group, besides being married, is having gone into space. He went into space as the payload specialist, something not even snaky Sheldon can claim to have done.
Howard can speak several languages, including Klingon.
He met Bernadette on a date set up by Penny. At first, it was awkward and they had nothing in common. But when the subject of overbearing mothers came up, they connected.
In season six viewers learned that he could do impersonations. During a game of Dungeons and Dragons, he changes his voice to sound like Nicholas Cage, AL Pacino and Christopher Walken.

Start With the Hair
Although he is almost 30, Howard still wears his hair like he was five. His bowl cut style looks like he had a bowl over his head and someone took a scissor and cut around it.
It makes him appear more geeky and it fits in with the childlike behaviors he still exhibits. This 60's style Beatles wig looks just like the hairstyle Howard wears.
The Loud Clothes
To say that Howard dresses colorfully would be a mild understatement. In an interview on collider.com, Simon Helberg, who plays Howard, got used to what the wardrobe department selected for that episode. All of it is very tight, and he literally has to squeeze himself into the pants he wears. He gets his laughs just by wearing these outrageous outfits.
The look is easy to assemble. Pair a bright pair of pants with a matching tee shirt or turtleneck underneath. The top layer is a loud plaid shirt or striped sweater. The look is finished by an equally loud belt. Howard only owns one belt, but as Sheldon learned when he had to clean them, that he has about 100 belt buckles.
